Wrestling and MRSA

The Monroe Junior Falcons have adopted the polices addressed in the literature prepared by the Monroe Township Board of Education.  In addition we wish to ensure that the following methods and procedures will add a secondary level of protection to all participants of the program.

  1. Wrestlers are not to wear their wrestling sneakers anywhere other than the wrestling room. (Parents should have the wrestler where a different pair of footwear to the gym)

  2. Siblings will not be permitted on the wrestling mat.

  3. Mats will be washed and disinfected prior to practice.

  4. Water/Gatorade should be brought to practice to limit use of water fountains outside of wrestling room.

  5. Practice clothes should be washed regularly.

  6. As always, wrestlers should shower after practice.

  7. Our coaching staff will verify that mats are disinfected prior to competing when we are the visiting team.

We need your help to make our program stronger:

This year the Monroe Junior Falcons embark on a mission to raise the level of all participants.  Regardless of age, all wrestlers will become physically fit, mentally stimulated and of course taught the basics of wrestling.   First year wrestlers will meet two days a week while returning wrestlers will meet four days a week.  From our first graders through our eighth graders it is our goal to provide the correct mix of exercise, practice, scrimmage, match and tournament time still understanding that the wrestlers are Student -  Athletes.  It has been proven that those students who have participated in organized sports have had the self confidence to succeed;  in school and in life.  As the Coaches and the Wrestlers do their part, please look how you and your family can help.  It will not take much time if we all lend a hand.

Look forward to a successful 2008 - 2009 season.
