I'm
new to wrestling, what is a good link to understand the rules?

Parents Guide to Youth Wresting.
Also, please see the links section of the
website.
Also, visit

What
type of equipment is needed?
Each wrestler is required to wear
wrestling sneakers and headgear
What should my child wear to practice?
New
wrestlers should wear the following to practice: shorts or sweat
pants (PLEASE no zippers or buttons), sneakers, tee shirt . (Once formal
matches begin, wrestlers will be required to purchase headgear and
wrestling sneakers). Also, please remember to keep your child's
finger nails trimmed.
What
equipment does the club provide?
The club provides a Singlet, shorts and
tee shirts. Please note you MUST return the singlet at the end of the
season. Each wrestler pays a uniform bond with registration.
The bond will be returned upon the return of the singlet.
As a parent how can I help?
Help is always
needed when setting up and breaking down from a match. For each home
match, the mats need to be setup, mopped, and chairs setup. At the
conclusion, all the chairs and mats need to be put away. In
addition, time and score keepers may be needed.
In addition,
the wrestling club hosts 2 tournaments a year. We rely on parent
participation to assist with many different roles including assistance
with the concession stand.
I noticed
there a bunch of tournaments on the Calendar. Does the club pay
for this, or is the individual responsible?
The club will currently pay for the following: Fulcher (Edison)
Tournament and Monroe Tournament
*Note: When a wrestler is registered for a
tournament in which the Club will finance, and does not appear,
the family will reimburse the club for the entry fee of the
wrestler.
